Artus produces plastic and aluminum shims in 18 different thicknesses from .0005” through .060”, with each thickness in a different color. This allows for quick and easy shim selection during production or maintenance. For more information on Artus’s color-coding system. See our color chart.
What materials are available from Artus?
We offer custom cut-to-order products and shim stock in a variety of materials. We carry color coded aluminum and plastic, natural cold-rolled and stainless steel, brass, vegetable fiber, and many other materials available upon request.

What temperature can Artus materials withstand?
Our .0005”-.012” plastics are heat resistant up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and .015”-.060” plastics are heat resistant up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. We also carry special high-temperature plastic up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit in .015”, .020”, and .030” plastic. For temperatures over 200 degrees, see our aluminum, steel, and brass options.
What are Artus’s delivery standards?
Our lead time can vary depending on the material ordered and other factors. We pride ourselves on our ability to keep to the ship date given. For urgent situations, we can offer an expedited production and shipping.
What forms of payment are accepted?
Here at Artus we strive to make everything as easy for our customers as possible. We therefore accept a number of forms of payment, including ACH, check, credit card, and wire transfer.
